If I am testing a chatbot virtual girlfriend, I won’t just flirt with it and be done. I will play with it a little. I will change its mood in the middle of a conversation. I will cut it off mid-sentence. I will tell it to calm down. And I will release it only to play with its mood some more.

I also interrupt it mid-sentence at one point and say, “Wait, what were you going to say?”

I didn’t do that arbitrarily. I was stress testing the AI. In real conversations you get interrupted. You pause. You pivot. I need to test if the AI can get its mojo back and continue, without sounding like it’s starting over.

I like that when it is still keeping the conversation going and has understood my last paragraph about having a friendly chat, I’m like, ok… it’s listening. It’s not superhuman, but it’s not blank, which I rate higher than one-liners.
